Overview

Harris County is committed to fostering a fair, transparent, and competitive workplace where employees are recognized and compensated equitably for their contributions. The Compensation and Pay Equity Project is a countywide initiative aimed at evaluating and modernizing our job classification and compensation structures to ensure consistency, fairness, and market competitiveness.

This project is being conducted in partnership with Gallagher Benefit, Inc, an experienced consulting firm specializing in compensation and pay equity analysis. Through a thorough review of job classifications, position descriptions, and salary structures, we are working to create a more transparent and equitable compensation system that aligns with industry best practices and the needs of our workforce.

Key Objectives of the Project

Standardizing Job Classifications:

Ensuring job roles are clearly defined, aligned with responsibilities, and structured consistently across departments.

Enhancing Pay Equity:

Addressing disparities and ensuring fair compensation practices that promote equity across all positions.

Improving Market Competitiveness:

Aligning salaries with industry standards to attract and retain top talent.

Providing Transparency:

Establishing clear guidelines for pay structures and career progression opportunities.
